Just some features of our Antarctica Map
This beautiful and visually impressive map is one any self-respecting Emperor would be proud to call his own.
Our National Geographic Physical map of Antarctica examines the icy continent in vivid detail. It shows the thickness of the ice shelf covering Antarctica with depths given in meters as well as the Ross and Ronne Ice shelves along with other, smaller such sheets of ice and the glaciers feeding each. The location of scientific and research stations is given as well.
There is a small insert showing the bedrock surface of Antarctica incorporating a chart showing the movement of its sea-ice sheets and prevailing winds as well as a cross-section showing how the ice covers the continent. Another insert shows the size of each participating country’s claim upon Antarctica. Lastly, National Geographic also provides facts and figures relating to the geography of Antarctica, for example, covering topics such as marine life, ice coring, glaciers and so on.
